The Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training (IFAPA) is a public research institution, belonging to the government of Andalusia (Consejería de Agricultura, Pesca y Medio Ambiente) in Spain, with 18 research centers at regional level. It is corner stone within the context of the second modernization for the incorporation of Andalusia into the knowledge and innovation society. IFAPA aims to develop a global research and quality training aimed at creating and promoting an innovative enterprise culture, linked to current and future needs in agriculture, fisheries and food industry. IFAPA is organized in seven scientific areas: Agricultural Production, Biotechnology, Postharvest Technologies and Food Industries, Organic Production and Natural Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Agricultural Economics and Sociology, and Crop Protection.
