Kevin Lindegaard of Crops for Energy kicks off the SUPERGEN Annual Assembly in Birmingham 5 NOVEMBER 2014

Kevin Lindegaard of Crops for Energy Ltd. presented a paper called "Promoting policy development and an EU Action Plan for the Woody Energy Crops Sector" at the Supergen Annual Assembly in Birmingham on the 5th November. Kevin's presentation was one of two talks on SRC that kicked off this years event.

The Impact of Energy Crops Workshop is organized within the LogistEC project which aims to develop new or improved technologies of the biomass logistics chains. Two ROKWOOD partners will parcticipate as speakers at the event. Annika Hendriksson from SalixEnergi will speak about the Integration of envrionmental criteria and Kevin Lindegaard from Crops for Energy Ltd will explain the Impacts of energy corps at regional level.

The ROKWOOD mid-term meeting was held from 4th to 6th of June in the city of Goslar, Germany, hosted by the German ROKWOOD cluster.

Representatives of all participating institutions took part in the meeting to present the results of their work of the past months and to discuss the work for the coming months.

Irish Cluster of the ROKWOOD project hosted a Biomass / SRC for Renewable Heat workshop in Athlone, Co. Westmeath on 15th May.

Presentations were given the Irish Cluster co-ordinator Patrick Daly of DIT and by Roisin Grimes (IrBEA), Barry Caslin (Teagasc), Michael Doran (Action Renewables & IrBEA), Paddy Phelan (Carlow Kilkenny Energy Agency) and John Keely.

The Irish ROKWOOD cluster invites all stakeholders, agencies, organisations and persons active or interested in the development of Biomass and SRC in particular to attend and participate in a morning seminar and networking event examining issues and challenges of meeting our Renewable Heat targets in Ireland via Biomass heating with Short Rotation Coppice as a key potential resource in facilitating that demand.


The Provincial Council of Granada, through the Granada provincial Energy Agency, officially launches "Granada is Green" campaign, referring to the potential for development in our province with biomass production and associated thermal uses, in addition to the possibility of other renewable "green" energies.

South West England cluster at the International Bioenergy Conference in Manchester 11-13 March 2014

On behalf of the SW England cluster Kevin Lindegaard of Crops for Energy Ltd presented a paper called "Securing future indigenous biomass supply with energy crops: The role of a supportive policy framework in achieving the necessary step change" at the International Bioenergy Conference in Manchester on 12 March 2014.

South West England cluster host a reception for policy makers 28th January 2014.

As part of the Bristol meeting in January 2014 the South West England cluster held an evening workshop on European best practice and the need for supportive policy in Palm Court Restaurant of the Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel.
